After Programme Teaching Teams have completed the design workshops, team members create a sequenced overview of each course. This “Blueprint” gives details about modules and topics within a course, and will highlight the key learning activities and assessments and the sequence that these occur. 

Approach and Methodology

A Learning Design process for course re-design and development was implemented to ensure that the course meets the needs of learners in terms of addressing both the subject matter and the delivery environment.

A Course Design workshop was held at Otago Polytechnic, whereby representatives from each college participated in redesigning the course. Through a collaborative process, attendees defined the primary characteristics of the potential learner population and also created the design model for the course based on a learning outcomes framework. The resulting recommendations form the content of the course design document, which will be used during the development phase of the programme.
