December 2021 postponement information
6 January 2022
Most certificates and transcripts have been sent, however due to the volume of certificates we were unable to get all of these dispatched prior to the end of the year.
We are currently working on dispatching the remaining certificates and transcripts and expect these to be sent by the end of next week.
Thank you once again for your patience as we have worked through this process.
7 December 2021
We have started sending certificates to graduates. You will receive an email from us with a tracking number when your certificate has been sent.
Due to the volume of parcels being sent at this time of year you may get the notification email from us before the tracking number has been received into the NZPost system. If the tracking link in your email returns a 'No information available' notification, please be patient and try again later.
Redirecting your parcel
If you need to redirect your parcel to another address this can be done via the Redirect my parcel option on the NZPost tracking page once NZPost have received your parcel into their system.

5 November 2021
The December 2021 graduation ceremonies have been postponed to the second week of March 2022.
Otago Polytechnic will be holding three graduation ceremonies across two days that week – two on Thursday 10 March, and one on Friday 11 March.
Check the ceremony schedule on the graduation important dates webpage to see whether your replacement ceremony is on Thursday 10 March or Friday 11 March.
We will be in touch in the next couple of weeks with what we need you to do.
We have created a set of FAQs which answer the common questions we have already received.
This webpage, and the FAQs, will be updated as details are confirmed.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty around Covid-19 alert levels, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the December 2021 graduation ceremony until early 2022.
This is not a decision that has been made lightly as we know and appreciate that celebrating and acknowledgment of your mahi is an important part your Otago Polytechnic journey, as well as a proud moment for your whānau, community and our staff. We looked at a number of alternatives for the ceremony but the restriction on numbers, physical distancing and the challenge of some learners and whānau in Alert Level 3 areas has guided our decision making.
We realise this is disappointing for you after the mahi you have put in to cross the stage, however, this is a postponement not a cancellation.
At this stage, we’re looking at holding the ceremony in early 2022, once we have confirmation of the new date, we’ll let you know as soon as we can.
With the rapid change of alert levels, disruption to travel throughout the country and strong potential for levels and limits on attendance to change, we believe this is the safest course of action for everyone – our learners, our staff and our community.
